Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt Convenes APC on July 24 Amid Rising Terror Threats
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterSend on Whatsapp

PESHAWAR; In response to the worsening law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the provincial government has announced an All Parties Conference (APC) scheduled for July 24. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has formally invited all major political parties and representatives from various schools of thought to join hands in addressing the growing threat of terrorism.

The move comes amid a surge in terrorist attacks across KP in recent months, raising concerns over public safety and the state’s counterterrorism strategy. By bringing political stakeholders to a common platform, the government aims to formulate a unified and robust response to the security challenges facing the province.

Addressing the initiative, CM Gandapur emphasized that ensuring peace is a collective responsibility that transcends political and ideological divisions. “We must come together for the sake of peace,” he said. “It is time to set aside our differences and develop a joint strategy to combat terrorism.”

In a separate but related statement, Gandapur strongly criticized recent court verdicts against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, calling them unconstitutional and unjust. He particularly condemned the sentencing of senior leader Dr Yasmin Rashid, terming it “tyrannical” and a “blatant misuse of the legal system.”

He vowed unwavering support for his party, saying, “We stood with PTI, we stand with it, and we will continue to stand firm. Truth will prevail, and history will remember these injustices.”

The APC is expected to provide a rare opportunity for political unity in a province grappling with a renewed wave of militancy.
