Web Desk (MNN); Historical drama Hamnet and animated feature K-pop Demon Hunters emerged as major winners at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, held on Sunday in California under the auspices of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser in Beverly Hills, saw Hamnet take the award for best film in the drama category, while K-pop Demon Hunters was named best animated film.
Renowned filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson won the best director award for One Battle After Another, which also secured the Golden Globe for best film in the musical or comedy category.
Political messages were also visible at the event, with several attendees wearing black-and-white pins carrying slogans such as “ICE OUT” and “BE GOOD.” The badges were part of a campaign supported by the American Civil Liberties Union and referenced recent controversial deaths involving US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Minneapolis resident Renee Good by an ICE agent earlier this month.
A number of prominent celebrities, including Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes and Jean Smart, were seen wearing the pins during the ceremony.
