ISLAMABAD; Federal government has, in principle, approved the relocation of the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters from Peshawar to Islamabad.
A high-level meeting on the matter was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The session was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary, the Commandant and Deputy Commandant of FC, Chairman CDA, Inspector General Islamabad Police, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the authorities to immediately identify a suitable piece of land in the federal capital for the establishment of the FC headquarters. He emphasized that both the operational requirements of the headquarters and the needs of training facilities must be carefully considered while selecting the site.
The minister further stated that the FC will be upgraded into a well-structured and highly vigilant force, developed along modern lines to effectively address emerging security challenges.
In this regard, he also instructed that a comprehensive master plan for the new headquarters should be prepared without delay so the project could be implemented at the earliest possible time.
