RAWALPINDI (MNN); Pakistan and China have launched a two-week counter-terrorism exercise aimed at improving interoperability and strengthening military cooperation, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to ISPR, the joint exercise, titled Warrior-IX, is being held from November 28 to December 14, 2025, with troops from the Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) taking part.
A Distinguished Visitors Day was organised at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, where Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong attended as the chief guest, while Pakistan Army’s Chief of General Staff participated as the guest of honour.
During the visit, officials briefed the guests on the training objectives and the overall scope of the drills. The visitors also witnessed multiple counter-terrorism demonstrations and praised the professionalism, operational skills, and high morale of the participating troops.
ISPR stated that the joint exercise reflects the deep defence cooperation between Pakistan and China, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
Pakistan and China continue to maintain close strategic and defence coordination. China remains Pakistan’s largest supplier of military equipment. Chinese-made J-10CE fighter jets, inducted into the Pakistan Air Force, played a significant role in the May conflict with India, reportedly shooting down six IAF fighter jets, strengthening Pakistan’s aerial advantage.
Both countries also participated in Warrior-VIII last year, and routinely hold joint naval and air drills to enhance mutual coordination and operational synergy.
