RAWALPINDI; Pakistan’s security forces killed 31 terrorists linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna Al Khwarij during two major operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Sunday.

According to the ISPR, the operations were conducted between September 13 and 14 after actionable intelligence indicated the presence of militants in the region.

In Lakki Marwat, security forces launched a targeted intelligence-based operation (IBO), which resulted in a fierce exchange of fire. Fourteen terrorists affiliated with the Indian-sponsored militant network were successfully neutralized. In a separate operation in Bannu district, troops engaged militants in heavy combat, killing another 17 terrorists from the same group.

The ISPR confirmed that terrorist hideouts were destroyed in both operations and clearance activities were ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats. The military reaffirmed its determination to eradicate all traces of Indian-backed terrorism from Pakistani soil.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the bravery and professionalism of the security forces in carrying out the successful operations. In a statement on Monday, he praised the forces for “sending 31 Indian-sponsored terrorists to hell,” adding that their swift actions had foiled the militants’ “nefarious designs” against Pakistan.

“I salute the courageous personnel who brought these terrorists to an exemplary end,” Naqvi said, emphasizing that the entire nation stands firmly behind the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He further vowed that Pakistan would never allow “India-backed miscreants” to find refuge within its borders, reiterating the government’s commitment to safeguarding national security.

This comes after a September 11 operation in Lal Qila Maidan, Lower Dir, where security forces killed 10 Fitna Al Khwarij militants. However, seven soldiers were martyred while rescuing civilians held hostage by the terrorists.
