Aleema Khan Criticizes ‘Planted Media’ Outside Adiala Jail, Warns of Imminent Verdict Against Imran Khan

RAWALPINDI; Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, said on Monday that authorities were rushing to deliver another punishment against the former prime minister, this time in the Toshakhana-2 case.

Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, Aleema declared: “I will not talk to mainstream media today as well, because 3 to 4 planted individuals are being sent deliberately to misbehave in front of cameras. I do not want to give them the opportunity. Such provocations will agitate our workers and result in unnecessary arrests.”

She added that for the last two years, media had covered events without incident, but now “planted people” were being introduced to tarnish the atmosphere. Aleema also revealed that another case had been registered against her and PTI workers, which she claimed was part of a wider campaign of political victimization.

Aleema argued that the Toshakhana-2 trial was being expedited unnaturally: “These people are showing undue haste in this case. Everyone knows they are going to announce another punishment against Imran Khan, and even he himself is aware of what is coming.”

Tensions between PTI and the press at Adiala Jail have been on the rise. Just last week, a journalist was reportedly thrashed by PTI supporters during Aleema Khan’s earlier press talk outside the prison. The incident drew condemnation from the journalist community, who lodged protests and FIRs against PTI leaders, including Aleema Khan and party lawyer Naeem Panjutha. The scuffle raised serious questions about the party’s approach towards media freedom, with press associations demanding accountability.

Against this backdrop, Aleema’s latest remarks about “planted media persons” reflect growing hostility between PTI representatives and sections of the press, coinciding with heightened political and legal pressure on the party leadership.
