ISLAMABAD; Consultations for the formation of the new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet are in progress, with Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expected to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Thursday, official sources confirmed.
According to the sources, Imran Khan is likely to finalise and hand over the names of cabinet members to the chief minister during their meeting. However, if the meeting does not take place, the formal notification for the new cabinet is still expected to be issued on Thursday.
The proposed lineup reportedly includes two advisers and seven ministers. Muzammil Aslam and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif are likely to be appointed as advisers, while the expected ministers include Adnan Qadri, Mian Khaleequr Rehman, Fazal Shakoor, Meena Khan, Arshad Ayub, Aftab Alam, and Fakhar Jahan.
Meanwhile, sources disclosed that members of the dissolved cabinet are still performing their duties and issuing instructions to the bureaucracy. Several former ministers have not yet vacated official residences or returned government vehicles, continuing to avail official privileges despite the cabinet’s dissolution.
