ISLAMABAD; Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif departed for London on Monday aboard a foreign airline.
According to media reports, Nawaz Sharif left Jati Umra for Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, from where he boarded a Qatar Airways flight to London. Special arrangements had been made at Jati Umra, Raiwind, ahead of his departure.
Sources said Nawaz Sharif is expected to stay in London for two weeks, during which he will undergo his routine medical checkups. Just a few days earlier, he visited the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences for examinations, where an MRI of his neck was also conducted. He has been experiencing muscle pain.
Diplomatic sources further revealed that Nawaz Sharif will have a brief layover in Qatar, where he is expected to meet several heads of state attending the Conference of Islamic Countries.
