ISLAMABAD; PTI founder Imran Khan has submitted a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking permission for regular medical checkups at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
The petition was filed on Monday through Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, represented by his lawyer Raja Zahoor ul Hassan Khan.
Respondents in the petition include the Punjab Home Department, the provincial government, Inspector General of Jails, as well as the jail hospital and Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
The petition requests the court to order that a medical team from Shaukat Khanum Hospital be allowed to conduct monthly medical examinations and necessary tests on Imran Khan.
It further asks that copies of the medical reports be shared with the court and the family members of the PTI founder.
For immediate relief, the petition urges the court to allow the medical checkup by Shaukat Khanum doctors within three days.
The petition highlights that Imran Khan, aged 72, requires routine medical checkups. It mentions that he has experienced weight loss during his imprisonment and there are concerns about his health. The medical history of Imran Khan is already available at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
The court was also requested to grant access to doctors Dr. Asim Yousuf, Dr. Faisal Sultan, and Dr. Samina Niazi for conducting medical checkups and tests on Imran Khan.
