ISLAMABAD; The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Islamabad celebrated the 26th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of his glorious ancestors with a ceremonial event attended by senior government officials, diplomats, and business leaders.

The chief guest at the event was Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, who joined Moroccan officials and dignitaries in marking the national occasion, widely known as Throne Day. The event highlighted Morocco’s progress under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and reaffirmed the deep and historic friendship between Morocco and Pakistan.

In his welcome address, the Moroccan ambassador praised the enduring bonds of allegiance between the Moroccan people and their monarch, describing the day as a moment of national reflection on achievements and future ambitions. He noted that under the King’s leadership over the past 26 years, Morocco had significantly strengthened the pillars of its economic and social progress despite international challenges.

“Industrial exports have more than doubled since 2014,” the envoy stated, pointing to strong performance in key sectors such as automotive, aviation, renewable energy, food industries, and tourism. He emphasized Morocco’s transformation into a competitive and diversified economy, linked to nearly three billion global consumers through a network of free trade agreements.

Highlighting Morocco’s large-scale development initiatives, the ambassador invited Pakistani investors and businesses to explore opportunities in sectors like water management, energy, food security, and infrastructure. He underscored the investment-friendly environment in Morocco and access to foreign markets via free trade agreements with the European Union, USA, Turkey, UAE, Egypt, and others.

The ambassador also emphasized the significance Morocco places on its bilateral ties with Pakistan. “Our relations have traditionally been strong and cordial, rooted in shared values and a common history,” he said. He expressed optimism for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, defense, and global diplomacy.

Looking ahead, he announced that both countries are preparing for a series of high-level meetings aimed at boosting cooperation and identifying joint opportunities for growth in exports, industrial collaboration, and bilateral trade.

The evening concluded with a renewed call for greater collaboration and people-to-people exchanges between the two brotherly nations.

“Long live Morocco–Pakistan friendship,” the ambassador declared to warm applause from the guests.
