LAHORE: The Sessions Court Lahore has dismissed a petition that sought the registration of a case against former president Arif Alvi over allegedly disrespectful remarks. Additional Sessions Judge announced the reserved verdict, rejecting the plea.
It has been said in the court’s decision that government has set up National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency in connection with matters related to social media. Therefore, the applicant should resort to the respective institution.
The court maintained this matter does not fall in its powers of jurisdiction. Petition was filed by citizen Shahzada Adnan through advocate Muhammad Mudassar Chaudhry.
