LAHORE (MNN); In a joint operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interpol have arrested three proclaimed offenders wanted in murder and attempted murder cases in Punjab, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The suspects, identified as Taimoor Ahmed, Abdul Qayyum and Ali Raza, were arrested in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Following their apprehension, the fugitives were deported to Pakistan and brought to Lahore.
According to an FIA spokesperson, Interpol had issued red notices against the accused to facilitate their arrest and extradition. The arrests were carried out after close coordination between FIA’s National Crime Bureau and international law enforcement agencies.
Upon their arrival at Lahore airport, the suspects were taken into custody by FIA Immigration officials and subsequently handed over to Punjab Police for further legal proceedings.
Officials said the successful operation reflects ongoing cooperation between Pakistani authorities and international partners to track down criminals who flee abroad to evade justice.
