PESHAWAR (MNN); The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will include a vehicle number plate bearing the personalised registration mark “Imran Khan-804” in an upcoming auction scheduled for January 27, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Syed Fakhar Jahan said on Wednesday.
Personalised registration marks allow vehicle owners to retain their chosen number plates even after selling their vehicles. The KP Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department had earlier invited bids through newspaper advertisements for such special number plates.
Speaking to the media, Syed Fakhar Jahan said that “Imran Khan-804” and “Imran Khan-1” were among the selected numbers for auction after strong public interest was observed.
The number 804 is linked with former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, as it is reportedly the jail number assigned to him since his incarceration.
The minister said the auction would be held at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar on January 27, with each personalised number plate carrying a base price of Rs1 million.
He added that bidders could also propose other personalised numbers, including names of political figures, and authorities were open to considering such suggestions. However, no additional proposals had been received so far.
Syed Fakhar Jahan said the provincial cabinet had already approved the personalised registration mark scheme.
