ISLAMABAD (MNN); Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said that Pakistan was fully prepared to welcome investment from the United Arab Emirates in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, agriculture, and mineral development.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad marking the 54th National Day of the UAE, he said Pakistan and the UAE shared a strong economic partnership, calling the UAE’s support vital for Pakistan’s economic stabilization.
He congratulated the UAE leadership and people on the occasion, extending warm wishes to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the ruling families of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, parliamentarians, diplomats, and people from various walks of life.
The Prime Minister said he fondly remembered the UAE as a nation that believed in turning possibilities into realities long before its remarkable progress became visible. He praised the UAE’s achievements and paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, describing him as the visionary architect of Pakistan-UAE friendship.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan greatly valued its strategic partnership with the UAE, which continued to expand in all areas. He highlighted the central role of the 1.8 million Pakistanis living in the UAE, contributing significantly to its economic development and considering it their second home.
Millions of people admired the UAE’s rapid progress under its dynamic leadership, he added. The Prime Minister expressed hope for even stronger cooperation, greater prosperity, and lasting peace for both countries and the broader region.
UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in fields such as economy, energy, and artificial intelligence. He said both countries shared common values and a united vision for regional peace and progress.
The ceremony concluded with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the UAE ambassador cutting a commemorative cake.
