Ransomware Threats Could Cost Global Manufacturing Industry Over $18B in 2025, Kaspersky Warns
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterSend on Whatsapp

Web Desk (MNN); Kaspersky, in collaboration with VDC Research, has revealed that ransomware attacks on the global manufacturing sector may have resulted in potential losses exceeding $18 billion during the first three quarters of 2025. This estimate accounts for the direct cost of idle workforces during downtime, while total operational and financial impacts are expected to be much higher.

The analysis covered regions including APAC, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, CIS, and LATAM, based on ransomware detection and prevention rates, the total number of manufacturing organizations, average downtime per attack, average employee numbers per organization, and average hourly wages.
