LAHORE (MNN); The Embassy of Denmark, in collaboration with the Danish Energy Agency under the Danish Energy Transition Initiative, organised the second GreenTech Pakistan event in Lahore on 18 November 2024.

Following the success of the first event in Karachi in 2023, this year’s edition introduced renewed energy, new collaborations and several key announcements aimed at advancing Pakistan’s shift toward clean and sustainable energy.

The event showcased modern Danish technologies in renewable energy and energy efficiency, areas in which Denmark is regarded as a global leader. It also highlighted Denmark’s expertise in long-term energy planning, smart integration of renewable sources and innovative efficiency solutions that can help Pakistan move toward a more stable and environmentally friendly energy system.

A key feature of the event was the presentation of new findings from the ongoing Denmark-Pakistan cooperation under DETI, offering recommendations to further support Pakistan’s sustainable energy transition.

The Embassy additionally announced that a three-year Strategic Sector Cooperation programme in the energy sector will begin on 1 January 2026, aimed at expanding technical support and capacity building for Pakistan’s energy institutions.

Participants welcomed these developments as important steps toward strengthening bilateral cooperation, promoting investment and creating new opportunities in research, innovation and technology collaboration. The event again underscored Denmark’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s green energy ambitions.

Alongside the technical discussions, the programme also included a cultural segment featuring a performance by the Denmark-Pakistan Musical Exchange Tour. Danish artists, performing with students from the Leif Larsen Music Centre, entertained attendees as part of their Pakistan tour, highlighting Denmark’s dedication to fostering cultural ties in addition to technical cooperation.

The Embassy thanked all partners and participants for contributing to the continued success of GreenTech Pakistan as a platform promoting innovation and partnership.
