ISLAMABAD (MNN): PPP Senator Palwasha Khan on Monday accused the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) of being corrupt, urging that all land allotment cases be transferred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The remarks were made during a Senate Standing Committee on Privileges meeting, chaired by Senator Waqar Mehdi. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the committee, stating that the Capital Development Authority had scanned its records through the Punjab Land Revenue Authority and was professionally pursuing all court cases.
He affirmed the CDA would comply with court decisions and be held accountable for proven wrongdoing.
Several cases involving farmhouse allotments, each worth approximately Rs1.5 billion, are currently pending. PPP Senator Rubina Khalid criticised the CDA for failing to meet its responsibilities toward affected citizens, while Senator Palwasha raised concerns about multiple illegal plot transfers and wrongful termination of junior CDA employees.
The committee demanded complete records of all cases involving fake plot allotments and transfers. CDA Chairman Randhawa confirmed the authority is ready to provide records and cooperate with NAB, while also assuring that ongoing corruption-related cases are being handled by the FIA.
Members also raised complaints regarding accommodation issues in the Parliament Lodges, which the CDA chairman promised to address personally.
