ISLAMABAD (MNN); Pakistan’s cement industry recorded modest overall growth in December 2025, with total cement dispatches increasing by 1.47 percent compared to the same month last year, according to figures released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement sales during December stood at 4.347 million tons, up from 4.284 million tons in December 2024. The growth was primarily driven by stronger domestic demand, while exports continued to decline.
Local cement dispatches rose significantly by 6.42 percent during the month, reaching 3.725 million tons compared to 3.5 million tons in December last year. In contrast, exports fell sharply by 20.66 percent, with shipments dropping to 621,685 tons from 783,550 tons during the same period a year earlier.
North-based cement mills supplied a total of 3.153 million tons to both local and international markets in December 2025, marking a 5.56 percent increase compared to December 2024. South-based mills, however, dispatched 1.19 million tons, reflecting a decline of 7.94 percent year-on-year.
In the domestic market, northern mills sold 3.153 million tons, registering strong growth of 9.75 percent against 2.873 million tons last year. Southern manufacturers supplied 572,263 tons locally, which was 8.81 percent lower than the 627,519 tons dispatched in December 2024.
Exports from southern mills declined by 7.14 percent to 621,685 tons, while no exports were recorded from northern mills during December 2025.
During the first half of the current fiscal year (July–December), total cement dispatches increased by 9.67 percent to 25.783 million tons, compared to 23.510 million tons in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Domestic sales during this six-month period rose by 13.11 percent to 21.152 million tons, while exports declined by 3.73 percent to 4.631 million tons.
Northern mills dispatched 17.915 million tons locally during the period, showing a growth of 14.67 percent. However, their exports fell by 18.53 percent to 808,506 tons. Overall dispatches from northern mills increased by 12.68 percent to 18.723 million tons.
Southern mills recorded domestic sales of 3.237 million tons, up 5.22 percent, while exports remained nearly unchanged at 3.822 million tons. Total dispatches from the south rose by 2.39 percent to 7.059 million tons during the first half of the fiscal year.
