ISLAMABAD; The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board held its 16th meeting on Thursday at CDA Headquarters under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad. Board members and senior officials attended the session, where multiple agenda items aimed at public facilitation and urban development were discussed and approved.

According to details, the Board approved the waiver of grave-digging and funeral bus charges in Islamabad, a move aimed at providing maximum relief to citizens during moments of grief. The Chairman directed that additional funeral buses be allocated to cemeteries across the capital to ensure better facilities.

The Board also decided to take steps to further improve the standards of Capital Hospital. Discussions included increasing hospital revenues through institutional-based private practice (IBPP). A revision of private patient fees was approved, with the condition that all revenue generated would be reinvested to enhance hospital facilities. The Chairman also instructed that new computers and modern equipment be introduced to digitalize and implement a cashless system in Capital Hospital.

The Board reviewed and approved the CDA Internship Policy 2025, under which graduates from top public and private universities across Pakistan will be hired transparently on merit. The Chairman emphasized that this initiative would not only meet manpower needs in all CDA formations but also provide the authority with a workforce equipped with modern skills.

The meeting also gave approval for allocation of land for the establishment of an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) office near the New Islamabad International Airport, and for the construction of a new police station within city limits as per legal requirements.

In another development, the CDA decided to propose renaming Service Road East in Sector F-10 as “Arshad Nadeem Road” in honor of the national athlete.

The Board also approved a rental agreement with the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) for the use of Islamabad’s municipal landfill site. It further extended RWMC’s services for the transfer of solid waste from Islamabad’s transfer stations (I-9, I-11, and other designated sites) to the dumping site at Chak Beli Khan Road, Rawalpindi.

Additionally, the Board approved upgradation procedures for CDA employees serving as Statistical Assistants in grades 15 and 16, in line with Finance Division rules.

Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in implementing all decisions. He said that Islamabad’s development, provision of modern public facilities, and beautification remain CDA’s top priorities, and all available resources are being mobilized for this purpose.
