Israel Hits Gaza Market, Water Site; 95 Killed, Over Half Women & Children

ISLAMABAD (Web-Desk); Amid stalled ceasefire talks in Qatar, Israeli forces have sharply escalated their attacks on the Gaza Strip, targeting a crowded market and a vital water distribution site, leaving at least 95 Palestinians dead in recent assaults.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, these latest strikes have pushed the confirmed death toll from Israel’s ongoing offensive beyond 58,000.

One of the deadliest incidents occurred when Israeli forces hit a busy market in Gaza City, reportedly killing at least 17 people.

In another tragic attack, an Israeli missile struck a water collection point in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 10 people, including seven children who had been waiting in line for drinking water, medical officials said.

The Israeli military has yet to comment on the Gaza City market strike. However, it acknowledged that the missile targeting the water point in Nuseirat had “veered off course due to a technical failure,” stating it was aimed at an Islamic Jihad operative but ultimately landed “dozens of meters from the target.” The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) added it “regrets any harm to uninvolved civilians” and said the incident is under investigation.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that since the start of what it describes as “Israeli genocide” more than 21 months ago, 58,026 people have been killed, with women and children making up over half the casualties.

Meanwhile, despite the intensifying military campaign and deadlocked negotiations in Qatar, U.S. President Donald Trump has continued to sound optimistic about a breakthrough.

Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews, he expressed hope that the Gaza crisis would be “straightened out” next week. Trump has repeatedly voiced such expectations since early July, even though tangible progress toward a ceasefire remains elusive.
