RAWALPINDI: In a significant counterterrorism operation, Pakistani security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan District, targeting Fitna al Khwarij militants, identified as an Indian proxy network.
According to ISPR, the operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the region. During the engagement, security forces effectively targeted the militant hideout, resulting in the killing of eleven insurgents and injuring seven others.
Tragically, during the intense exchange of fire, Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah, 37, a resident of Chakwal District, was martyred while leading his troops from the front. Alongside him, Lance Naik Jibran Ullah, 27, from Bannu District, also embraced martyrdom. Major Moiz was known for his bravery and had taken part in several successful operations against militant elements.
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” stated ISPR.
