Ethiopia Showcased as Global Investment Hub at Pakistan–Africa Summit

ADDIS ABABA; Ethiopia was highlighted as a globally competitive investment destination at the 5th Pakistan–Africa Business Development Summit and Conference, held at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa.

The event brought together more than 110 business delegates from Pakistan along with numerous companies from across the African continent.

Addressing the summit, Ethiopian Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime Feyisa emphasized that the event reflects the deepening trade and investment relations between Africa and Pakistan.

He noted that Ethiopia’s ongoing macroeconomic reforms have created a business-friendly environment, making the country increasingly attractive to international investors.

Ambassador Dawano Kedir, Director General for Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs, stated that bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan are steadily expanding across multiple sectors, including investment and development.

Former Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, underscored that the summit reflects the close, long-standing ties between the two nations and will further promote Ethiopia’s and Africa’s vast development potential.

Leading the Pakistani delegation, Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan highlighted Ethiopia’s trade potential, business opportunities, and stable policy direction, noting its unique position as the African Union headquarters.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Atif Sharif, praised the country’s investment climate and development transformation, expressing optimism about the deepening trade and economic engagement between the two sides.
