ISLAMABAD; Uzbekistan Airways has announced an expansion of its flight schedule between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, doubling the frequency of services on the “Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent” route from late October this year.

Beginning October 28, 2025, the airline will increase weekly flights on the route from one to two, responding to consistently high demand and fully booked flights in recent months. At present, Uzbekistan Airways operates two weekly services on the “Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent” route (Wednesdays and Fridays), and one weekly service on the “Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent” route (Saturdays).

Officials said the decision reflects efforts to deepen bilateral ties, promote economic diplomacy, and strengthen tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The additional flights are expected to provide greater convenience for travelers, support business partnerships, and encourage more frequent exchanges between the two nations.

The airline emphasized that the expansion is not only about connectivity but also about fostering closer cultural and humanitarian ties between the people of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The move will also benefit international travelers, as Tashkent International Airport serves as a key transit hub linking Pakistan with destinations in Europe, North America, and Asia. By offering smoother connections and efficient transit options, Uzbekistan Airways aims to position itself as a preferred choice for global travel.

Officials described the decision as a strategic step forward, marking a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. They said the expanded services will serve as a symbol of the two nations’ shared vision of building bridges across regions and strengthening friendships while enhancing trade, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.
