To mark the occasion, Japanese and Pakistani staff members of the Embassy of Japan joined together to sing the beloved national song “Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan,” symbolizing their joy, solidarity, and the enduring spirit of friendship between the two nations.

Japan and Pakistan established diplomatic relations in 1952, and over the decades, the partnership has grown to encompass trade, cultural exchange, development assistance, and people-to-people ties. Japan has been a longstanding development partner for Pakistan, contributing in areas such as infrastructure, education, health, and disaster relief. Ambassador Akamatsu’s Independence Day message reflects the continuing warmth and cooperation that define this bilateral relationship.
