Islamabad: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, hailing the day as a powerful reminder of the Kashmiri people’s resilience and enduring struggle for justice. In a statement issued on Sunday, she emphasized that the sacrifices made on this historic day continue to inspire generations and urged the international community to step up efforts toward a peaceful and just resolution of the Kashmir conflict.
“This historic day stands as a testament to the bravery and determination of the Kashmiri people,” said Senator Rubina Khalid. “On this day, courageous men and women stood tall against tyranny, inspiring generations to come.”
She highlighted that the martyrdom of July 13, 1931, symbolizes the courage needed to resist oppression and the high cost of fighting for one’s rights. “Their bravery in the face of adversity continues to inspire. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” she said.
Calling for global attention to the decades-long dispute, Senator Khalid urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility in promoting peace in the region. “Lasting peace in the region is only possible through a fair and peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute,” she stressed.
