Karachi: Popular actress and model Humaira Asghar — known for her roles in various dramas, films, brand campaigns, and as a contestant on Tamasha Season 1 — has been found dead under chilling and deeply puzzling circumstances.

Initially reported to have been deceased for over a month with her body discovered in a decomposed state inside her flat, new findings have made the case even more disturbing.

According to Dr. Summaiya, who conducted the initial post-mortem, Humaira’s body showed advanced stages of decay. Remarkably, her knee joints and the back of her skull — typically the last parts to decompose — were deteriorating, suggesting the body had been there for nearly nine months. One of her hands had completely detached due to the extent of decomposition.

Investigative journalist Iqrar ul Hassan, speaking after consultations with crime reporters, revealed that the last known contacts with Humaira by her colleagues were in September or October 2024, a period when she was still attending shows. Neighbours also confirmed sightings around that time. Phone records examined by police further indicated her last call was made in September 2024.

Despite this long absence, no friends or colleagues attempted to check on the actress, raising troubling questions. Hassan highlighted that police need to thoroughly investigate the matter.

There were no suspicious substances found at her residence, while all food items had expiry dates from October last year. Additionally, her flat’s electricity had been disconnected since 2024 — making survival in Karachi’s heat virtually impossible.

The tragic discovery has shocked fans and the entertainment industry alike, while the grim details continue to fuel demands for a rigorous probe into the circumstances surrounding Humaira Asghar’s death.
