GAZA: Israeli forces continue to pound Gaza, including attacks on aid seekers, with at least 24 Palestinians killed today.
US President Donald Trump says there is a “good chance” that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas could be reached this week.
Trump’s comments come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrives in Washington, DC, and as negotiations resume in Qatar.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 57,418 people and wounded 136,261, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023, attacks, and more than 200 were taken captive.
The Israeli military has conducted airstrikes on three critical ports and a power facility in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, leading to renewed missile launches by the Houthi rebels towards Israeli territory. The escalation marks a significant uptick in hostilities in the Red Sea region.

According to an official statement from Israeli forces, the targeted sites on Sunday night included the strategic Red Sea ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and As-Salif, as well as the Ras Kathib power plant. The strikes were reportedly a direct response to a missile allegedly launched by Houthi forces earlier that day, which was intercepted by Israel.
The Israeli military further stated it struck a radar system installed on the Galaxy Leader, a commercial vessel that was seized by the Houthis and is currently docked at the port of Hodeidah. Israel has accused the Houthis of using this vessel for “terrorist activities in the Red Sea.”
While the attacks have heightened tensions, no casualties have been reported so far from either the Israeli airstrikes in Yemen or the subsequent Houthi missile launches into Israeli territory.
Following the Israeli strikes, Houthi forces reportedly fired additional missiles towards Israel. Sirens sounded in various Israeli cities, including Jerusalem and Hebron, and near the Dead Sea, as Israeli defense systems attempted to intercept the projectiles.
This latest exchange of fire underscores the ongoing and volatile conflict in the region, with both sides demonstrating a readiness to escalate in response to perceived threats.
