
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed great concern over the situation arising from the Iran-Israel war and called on the international community to play its role for an immediate ceasefire.
Chairing the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister said Islamabad stands in solidarity with Tehran in this hour of need.
He said Pakistan desires peace and stability in the region.
The prime minister also said the situation in Gaza is very alarming. Over 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred and thousands injured due to Israeli aggression.
The prime minister mentioned that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will be attending the OIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Türkiye from 21st to 22nd June, which will also focus on the present situation concerning Iran.
Speaking about the agriculture sector, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that no tax has been imposed, especially on fertilizers.
He added that people earning up to 12 lakh rupees annually in this sector will pay only one percent tax.
He further mentioned that salaries have been raised by 10% in the budget for government employees.
The prime minister said that the PML-N government has saved Pakistan from going into default.
Praising Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto’s role, he said the Pakistani delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto presented Pakistan’s stance at the global level and effectively described Pakistan’s version of the Indo-Pak war to the world.
