ISLAMABAD: Albert P. Khorev met with Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi to discuss ongoing and future initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on key issues related to expanding bilateral cultural engagement. Ambassador Khorev highlighted the steady growth of humanitarian cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad and appreciated the support extended by Pakistan’s National Heritage and Culture Division in facilitating Russian cultural initiatives. He also briefed the minister on upcoming projects designed to further enhance people-to-people connections between the two countries.
Minister Khichi noted that Russian culture and traditions have long enjoyed popularity among Pakistani audiences, reflecting the enduring ties between the two nations. He underscored that, in line with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan encourages friendly countries to organize events that showcase their cultural heritage and traditions.
Both sides agreed to explore the possibility of organizing reciprocal Russia-Pakistan cultural weeks next year. The proposed events would feature musical performances, artists, writers, and other members of the creative community from both countries, aiming to further strengthen cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
