JAKARTA (Xinhua); The search for victims of landslides in Indonesia’s West Java province entered its eighth day on Saturday, with rescuers recovering 70 bodies, local media Detik.com reported.
The news website quoted Ade Dian Permana, head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office, as saying that clear weather has supported the operation, with bodies found at multiple locations.
Ten people were still reported missing after the landslides struck the Cisarua area of West Bandung early last Saturday, according to the report.
As of 2:30 p.m. local time Saturday, authorities had identified 52 of the recovered bodies, while the remaining cases were still undergoing examination.
Search efforts are continuing, with teams prioritizing safety and adjusting operations in line with on-site conditions, Permana said.
