Hearing of GHQ Attack and May 9 Cases Adjourned; Top PTI Leaders Among Accused

RAWALPINDI: The hearing of the GHQ attack case along with 11 other cases linked to the May 9 incidents was adjourned on Thursday. Prominent PTI figures, including Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Ali Amin Gandapur, Shandana Gulzar, Raja Basharat, and Suleman Akram Raja, are among those nominated in these cases.

11 cases related to May 9 tragedy and GHQ attack case came up for hearing before Judge Amjid Ali Shah of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC)

Several leaders and other accused appeared in the court Thursday. The accused were allowed to go after marking their attendance. Counsels of the accused including Muhammad Faisal, Malik Irfan Ahmad Niazi and other lawyers appeared in the court.
Zahir Shah and other prosecutors represented prosecution. Statements of 33 witnesses have been recorded in GHQ attack case so far.
Following the hearing of the case, the court adjourned hearing of GHQ attack case and 11 cases related to May 9 incident till July 18.
During hearing of case copies of challan were distributed among 27 accused in 11 cases.

The court said copies of challan in respect of 11 cases will be distributed to PTI founder in Adiala jail on next hearing. The court issued summons to 3 witnesses in GHQ attack case.
Copies of challan in 11 cases related to May 9 incident are likely to be distributed to PTI founder on next hearing in Adiala jail.
The court while ordering all the accused to ensure their attendance on next hearing adjourned the hearing.
