LAHORE (MNN); The Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory has finalized a detailed forensic report verifying videos linked to the May 9 incidents in Peshawar, confirming the presence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra and Irfan Saleem in the footage under review.
The report was prepared on the directions of the Anti-Terrorism Court, which had sought a forensic analysis in connection with the Radio Pakistan attack case.
According to police officials, 16 videos related to the May 9 incidents were sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory via a USB device. Experts conducted a frame-by-frame technical and visual examination of all videos.
The forensic analysis found no evidence of editing or tampering in several videos. However, the addition of logos and written text was detected in a few clips. The report further noted signs of splicing in two videos linked to Sohail Afridi and Irfan Saleem.
Experts also compared social media profile pictures of the individuals with those seen in the videos. The comparison confirmed that Sohail Afridi’s profile picture matched the individual appearing in the May 9 footage. Similar matches were established for Irfan Saleem, Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra.
The report clarified that the analysis was strictly limited to visual material, and no audio or other forms of evidence were examined. The forensic review process was carried out between December 19 and December 23, 2025.
Police officials stated that the forensic report will be submitted before the court.
