KARACHI: The Danish Ambassador to Pakistan, Maja Derrous Mortensen, paid her first official visit to Karachi, holding a series of engagements that underscored the depth and diversity of Denmark–Pakistan collaboration.
During the visit, the Ambassador met with leading Danish companies operating in Pakistan, including Novonesis, Shipco and DSV, and received briefings on their work in bio-solutions, shipping and logistics, as well as their experience of managing large-scale operations across the country.

She also interacted with key Pakistani partners of Danish businesses, including MAJ International, which collaborates with prominent Danish firms such as Arla Foods, Palsgaard, AAL and Novonesis, and Soorty Enterprises, one of Pakistan’s major denim manufacturers and a supplier to the Danish brand Bestseller and other international labels.
The Ambassador further attended a Danish-funded workshop organised by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) on mainstreaming climate action in economic and fiscal planning. The workshop is part of Denmark’s continued support for advancing Pakistan’s Climate Prosperity Plan under an SDG-focused initiative.
The visit concluded with a courtesy call on the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, where discussions focused on exploring further avenues for Denmark–Pakistan cooperation in Sindh.
