Web Desk (MNN); A British defence publication has disclosed the serial numbers of four Indian Rafale fighter jets allegedly shot down by Pakistan during military clashes in May, challenging New Delhi’s claims of air superiority.
According to an investigative report published by the UK-based defence magazine Key Aero, the Indian Air Force lost four Rafale aircraft during a 52-minute aerial confrontation between Pakistan and India.
The report identified the downed jets by their serial numbers: BS-001, BS-021, BS-022 and BS-027. It noted that India has so far failed to provide clear photographic evidence confirming the safety or status of these specific aircraft.
The journal stated that Pakistan’s coordinated multi-domain operations severely disrupted Indian Air Force capabilities, leaving Indian pilots unable to mount an effective response during the engagement.
In addition to the Rafale losses, the report claimed that India also lost MiG-29 and Su-30 fighter jets, along with a Heron unmanned aerial vehicle, during the clashes.
The report further alleged that on May 10, a Pakistan Air Force JF-17C Block III fighter jet successfully disabled and destroyed India’s S-400 air defence system stationed in Udhampur.
It also said Pakistani cyber units disrupted nearly 96 per cent of India’s digital networks and social media systems, describing the operation as the first instance in which an air force integrated cyber warfare with conventional military operations in such a coordinated and large-scale manner.
