Rawalpindi (MNN); Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over the strong and expanding defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy a longstanding partnership built on strategic military ties, mutual economic interests, and shared Islamic values. Riyadh has remained a vital partner, providing financial assistance and oil supplies to Islamabad. In September, both countries signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, under which an attack on either state would be considered aggression against both.
According to a statement posted by PTV News on X, COAS Munir met Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) Commander Lieutenant General Fahad Bin Saud Al-Johani at the General Headquarters.
The statement noted that the army chief highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in training, capacity building, and intelligence sharing. Lt Gen Al-Johani praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged its positive role in promoting regional stability.
Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and ways to further enhance defence cooperation.

COAS Munir also held a separate meeting with Bahrain National Guard Commander General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa. The two reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen military-to-military ties and discussed regional security and defence cooperation.
The Bahraini commander appreciated the Pakistan Army’s professionalism and its contribution to regional peace. Field Marshal Munir reiterated the historic bonds between Pakistan and Bahrain and assured continued support in all fields.
