Web Desk (MNN); The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has taken a clear lead in the unofficial results of by-elections held across six National Assembly and seven Punjab Assembly constituencies.

These seats fell vacant mainly due to the disqualification of several PTI-backed lawmakers in cases related to the May 9, 2023 unrest following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.

Polling took place in NA-18 Haripur, NA-96 Faisalabad, NA-104 Faisalabad, NA-129 Lahore, NA-143 Sahiwal and NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan. Seven Punjab constituencies, including PP-73, PP-87, PP-98, PP-115, PP-116, PP-203 and PP-269, also went to by-polls.

PTI formally boycotted all constituencies except Haripur and Lahore, while PML-N fielded candidates on all seats except PP-269 Muzaffargarh. The PPP contested two NA seats and one Punjab Assembly seat.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja said the polling process remained peaceful, adding that turnout was low but the administration of Punjab and KP cooperated fully.

NA-129 Lahore
Complete but unofficial results from all 334 polling stations show PML-N’s Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman in the lead with 63,441 votes. Independent candidate Arsalan Ahmad is trailing with 29,099.
The seat was vacated after the death of former Punjab governor Mian Muhammad Azhar, who had won in 2024 as a PTI-backed independent.

Faisalabad – NA and PA seats
Faisalabad saw a competitive contest across five constituencies.

PP-116 Faisalabad-19
Unofficial results from 175 out of 190 polling stations show PML-N’s Ahmad Shehryar leading with 45,674 votes, followed by independent Asghar Ali Qaiser with 10,294.

NA-104 Faisalabad-10
From 177 out of 375 polling stations, PML-N’s Daniyal Ahmed leads with 29,338 votes. Independent Rana Adnan Javed has 8,861.

PP-115 Faisalabad-18
Unofficial results from 147 polling stations show PML-N’s Tahir Pervaiz ahead with 35,620 votes. Independent Asghar has 1,713.

NA-96 Faisalabad-2
PML-N’s Muhammad Bilal Badar leads with 83,034 votes from 163 polling stations. Independent Nawab Sher Waseer has 27,502.

NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan
From 145 out of 226 stations, PML-N’s Mahmood Qadir Leghari leads with 55,418 votes, followed by PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa with 28,789.
The seat fell vacant after former minister Zartaj Gul’s disqualification.

PP-87 Mianwali
PML-N’s Haider Noor Khan leads with 23,858 votes. Independent Awaz Khan Niazi trails with 1,038 votes.

NA-18 Haripur (KP)
PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan leads the unofficial count with 86,791 votes from 302 polling stations. PTI-backed independent Shehrnaz Omar Ayub is second with 60,954.
The seat was vacated after Omar Ayub’s disqualification in a May 9 case.

PP-73 Sargodha
PML-N’s Sultan Ali Ranjha is ahead of four independent candidates. This seat fell vacant after PTI’s Ansar Iqbal Heral was disqualified and sentenced in a May 9 case.

PP-269 Muzaffargarh
Unofficial results from 126 polling stations show PPP’s Alamdar Abbas Qureshi leading with 43,620 votes. Independent Iqbal Pitafi follows with 37,065 votes.
The seat fell vacant after Qureshi stepped down before a recount request by Pitafi.

The Election Commission continues monitoring the counting process. All results remain unofficial.
