Web Desk (MNN); Security forces eliminated four terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing reported on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted between November 17 and 18, targeting militants associated with the group referred to by the state as Fitna al Khawarij — a label used for members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
The ISPR said the first operation was carried out in Bajaur, where troops engaged the militants and killed one after an intense exchange of fire. Two more terrorists were neutralised in Spinwam and Zakir Khel areas of North Waziristan, while a fourth was killed in Dera Ismail Khan district during another IBO.
The statement added that security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants, whom it described as Indian-sponsored and involved in several attacks in these regions. It said sanitisation operations were underway to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The ISPR reaffirmed that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam — approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — would continue at full pace to root out foreign-backed terrorism.
A day earlier, the ISPR had reported that 38 terrorists were killed in operations conducted between November 15 and 17 in various districts of KP. Ten militants, including ringleader Alam Mehsud, were killed in Dera Ismail Khan’s Kulachi area, while five were eliminated in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel.
In additional operations between November 16 and 17, security forces killed 11 militants in Bajaur and 12 more in Bannu, including another ringleader, Sajjad alias Abuzar.
