ISLAMABAD (MNN): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a 10 percent fine on Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam for violating the Level 1 ICC Code of Conduct during Tuesday’s match.
In its statement, the ICC confirmed that the 31-year-old breached Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which pertains to the misuse or abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground fixtures, or fittings during an international fixture.
Babar has also been issued one demerit point on his disciplinary record.
The incident took place in the 21st over of Pakistan’s innings, when Babar struck the stumps with his bat before walking off the field after being dismissed.
