PESHAWAR: During the hearing of petition pertaining swat drowning case , Peshawar High Court (PHC) has summoned Commissioner Malakand , Hazara, Kohat, D.I.Khan and other respective officers.
Chief Justice (CJ) of PHC S.M Attique Shah and justice Faheem Wali remarked during the hearing of the case commissioner Malakand division and other respective officers should appear in person.
CJ said 17 lives were lost due to negligence. Why the tourists were not rescued on time. Why the steps were not taken for safety of the tourists. Why weren’t safety jackets provided to tourists through drones? Who is responsible for managing river safety and tourist areas
Advocate General (AG) KP said operation has been started against encroachments in Swat. Air ambulance was available but it could not be used due to insufficient time.
The CJ remarked why the concerned authorities did not comply with the warning issued by government.
The court while seeking report on Swat incident till next hearing adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
