Web Desk; At least 13 people, including two police officials, were injured in two separate attacks reported in Balochistan on Wednesday, according to local authorities.
The first attack occurred when unknown assailants hurled a grenade at a police mobile patrolling along the national highway in Dera Murad Jamali. The explosion injured 13 individuals, including two officers. Police and other law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an investigation, tightening security in the region.
Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dera Murad Jamali, Dr. Naseer Ahmed Imrani, confirmed that 13 people, including two policemen, were brought to the hospital for treatment. “A woman and two children are also among the injured,” he said, adding that all victims were receiving medical care.
In a separate incident, unidentified attackers fired four rockets at the Jaffar Express train near Nutal in Nasirabad district. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghulam Sarwar Bhiyo said the rockets were aimed at the train but missed their target, causing no casualties. “FC and police personnel immediately retaliated, forcing the attackers to flee,” he added.
According to police, the incident took place in Altafabad, but the Jaffar Express safely reached Dera Murad Jamali station. Security forces reached the site and conducted a search operation to clear the area. SSP Bhiyo said that after clearance, both the Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail trains were sent onward to Jacobabad, while security along the railway track has been further strengthened.
