ISLAMABAD (MNN); US President Donald Trump convened a high-level meeting in the White House Situation Room to review the escalating crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing negotiations with Iran, according to a report by Axios citing two American officials.
The report said key members of the administration attended the meeting, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Other senior officials present included White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, special envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine.
According to the report, the White House declined to comment on the meeting.
