ISLAMABAD (MNN); Despite firm denial from Iran, US President Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that Washington will obtain Iran’s enriched uranium.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed the assertion, stating that Tehran has not agreed to transfer its enriched uranium to the United States. He emphasized that enriched uranium is as sacred as Iranian soil and will not be moved under any circumstances.
However, speaking at a rally in Arizona, Trump insisted that the US would secure the material, saying efforts were underway to retrieve it.
Trump added that talks between the two sides are ongoing and expected to continue over the weekend. Addressing reporters in Phoenix, he said discussions had been positive and expressed optimism about progress, also referring to developments in Lebanon.
He further stated that there are no major differences between Washington and Tehran in negotiations, though any issues that arise would be resolved. On the ongoing blockade, Trump said it would end once a formal agreement is signed.
