ISLAMABAD (Staff Report): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed all federal ministers, ministers of state, and members of parliament to remain in Islamabad as the government gears up to present and pass the 27th Constitutional Amendment in parliament, sources said on Wednesday.
According to official sources, the prime minister has cancelled all foreign visits planned by cabinet members and lawmakers to ensure their presence during crucial consultations and voting sessions on the proposed amendment.
The directive highlights the need for full attendance and active participation of government representatives in the legislative process.
Officials added that the travel restrictions will stay in force until the amendment is approved. However, in exceptional cases of national importance, travel may be permitted with the prime minister’s written approval.
