RAWALPINDI; An Additional and Sessions Judge in Rawalpindi has directed police to submit their reply by October 24 on a petition seeking the registration of a case in connection with the egg-throwing incident targeting Aleema Khan, the sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, outside Adiala Jail.

The court also instructed the counsels of the respondents to present their arguments on the next hearing date.

Aleema Khan filed the petition after she was allegedly attacked with eggs by a group of women during her visit to Adiala Jail. In her application, she named Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, CPO Rawalpindi, Adiala Jail Superintendent Ghafoor Anjum, Deputy Superintendent Sabtain, ASP Zainab, SHO Aizaz of Sadar Baironi Police Station, In-charge Adiala Chowki Salim, along with seven other individuals, as respondents.

The petition alleges that the egg-throwing incident was not an isolated act but part of a broader effort to harass and intimidate Imran Khan’s family and supporters. It further claimed that the PTI founder is being deprived of his basic rights inside Adiala Jail “at the behest of the Punjab Chief Minister and jail authorities.”

According to the plea, Imran Khan is confined in a small cell where he is denied clean drinking water, electricity, and the facility of daily walks. The petition maintains that such treatment constitutes a violation of fundamental rights.

The court’s direction to seek a police reply marks the first step in judicial proceedings on Aleema Khan’s complaint.

The egg-throwing incident occurred earlier this month when Aleema Khan, along with her sisters, arrived at Adiala Jail to meet the PTI founder. Videos of the attack went viral on social media, sparking criticism from PTI supporters who accused the authorities of orchestrating the harassment, while government allies dismissed it as a protest by rival groups.
