Quetta: A high-level seminar titled “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: Regional Connectivity, Innovation, and Security in the Context of Balochistan” was held in Quetta under the auspices of the Center for Development and Stability (CDS), highlighting the transformative potential of CPEC for both Pakistan and the wider region. The event featured prominent political figures, former officials, legal experts, and analysts who underscored the importance of collective resolve and strategic planning to counter external threats and maximize the corridor’s benefits.

Speakers at the seminar included former caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Alauddin Marri, former Interior Minister Capt. (R) Mir Zubair Jamali, former provincial government spokesperson Babar Khan Yousafzai, CDS Director General Dr. Irfan Ashraf, Sardar Haroon Jamali, geopolitical analyst Raja Faisal, Balochistan High Court Bar Association President Ataullah Langau, and Dr. Dost Baloch, among others.

The participants emphasized that CPEC is not merely an infrastructure project but a game-changing initiative with the potential to reshape the economic and geopolitical landscape of the region. However, they also acknowledged the challenges it faces, particularly from hostile entities such as India, which they accused of engaging in hybrid warfare to destabilize Balochistan and derail the project.

Speakers called for a realistic, unified, and long-term strategic approach to ensure CPEC’s success. They urged the need to raise awareness among the youth of Balochistan about external threats and promote a spirit of national solidarity.

Attendees reaffirmed their commitment to building a prosperous, united, and stable Pakistan through the successful execution of CPEC, with Balochistan playing a pivotal role in its implementation.
