ISLAMABAD; The Embassy of France in Pakistan and Campus France hosted the “Choose France” press conference, showcasing the increasing interest of Pakistani students in pursuing higher education in France and the strengthening of academic cooperation between the two countries.

The event highlighted France’s comprehensive support for Pakistani students, including affordable tuition fees starting at €2,850 per year for undergraduate and €3,914 for master’s programmes.

The French government subsidises education for all students—local and international—ensuring high-quality education at accessible costs. Students also receive free compulsory health insurance, assistance with accommodation through CAF, discounted transportation packages, and subsidised meals at university restaurants, where a complete meal costs just €3.25.

France is a leading participant in Erasmus Mundus programs, with 112 of the 206 master’s programmes involving a French partner. For the fourth consecutive year, Pakistani students form the largest group worldwide in Erasmus Mundus, with 114 students selected in 2025.

France also remains the top destination for these scholars, hosting 32 Pakistani students this year.

Campus France, the official public agency under the French Ministries of Higher Education and Research, and Foreign Affairs, plays a central role in promoting French higher education abroad.

In Pakistan, the agency provides guidance on over 1,600 English-taught, government-recognised programs and facilitates access to 169 scholarship schemes for Pakistani students.

For the 2025 intake, 44 Pakistani students have received either Erasmus Mundus or French Government Excellence Scholarships focused on climate change — half of them women. Campus France also ensures a smooth visa process through the “Etudes en France” platform and operates offices in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad with a dedicated team.
