Web Desk; Russia’s Foreign Ministry has firmly rejected accusations from Poland that Russian drones intentionally violated its airspace during a combined strike on Ukrainian military infrastructure on the night of September 10, 2025.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Moscow pointed to clarifications issued by the Russian Defence Ministry, which stressed that no targets on Polish territory were involved in the strike.
The ministry further explained that the drones used against Ukrainian defence industry sites had a maximum range of under 700 kilometres, making it technically impossible for them to enter Polish airspace as claimed by Warsaw.
“These facts debunk the myths Poland is once again spreading in an attempt to escalate the Ukrainian crisis,” the statement declared.
The controversy prompted Poland to call a NATO Council meeting under Article 4 of the NATO Treaty. However, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, while confirming that the matter had been raised, refrained from attributing any intent to Moscow and stated only that “a full assessment is ongoing.”
Despite describing Poland’s claims as inconsistent, Russia’s Defence Ministry expressed readiness to hold consultations with the Polish Defence Ministry to clarify the incident. The Foreign Ministry added that it is also prepared to support these efforts in order to prevent further escalation in the region.
