Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi Friday met with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss a range of pressing regional and bilateral issues. The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan–US relations, enhancing cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism and anti-narcotics, and reviewing key regional developments. A notable point of discussion was the recent meeting between US President Donald Trump and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Minister Naqvi commended President Trump’s leadership, particularly his role in brokering a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. He drew a parallel with Trump’s past efforts in helping to de-escalate tensions between Pakistan and India, emphasizing that the US President’s contribution to fostering peace will be remembered. Naqvi also expressed hope that President Trump would play a similar role in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, underscoring Pakistan’s consistent position in favor of resolving conflicts—especially the Kashmir issue—through dialogue and diplomacy.
