ISLAMABAD; The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has dispatched a large-scale emergency relief convoy to assist families affected by recent flash floods and cloudbursts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At a ceremony held in Islamabad, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Maliki, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan, KSrelief Pakistan Director Abdullah Al-Baqami, representatives from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities, and members of the national and international media were present to see off the convoy.

The aid shipment includes 10,000 shelter kits and 10,000 food packages. Each shelter kit contains a tent, solar panels with LED lights, two thermal blankets, plastic mats, a kitchen set, water cooler, and antibacterial soap. The food packages, weighing 95 kilograms each, provide wheat flour, sugar, lentils, and cooking oil—carefully designed to meet the immediate nutritional needs of flood-affected families.

Distribution will be carried out in collaboration with NDMA, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RR&SD), and KSrelief’s implementing partners, Hayat Foundation and Peach and Development Organization. The arrangements aim to ensure transparency and timely delivery of aid to the most vulnerable communities.

Officials said the initiative highlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to supporting Pakistan during times of crisis. KSrelief has previously launched a wide range of projects across the country in the fields of food security, health, shelter, education, and disaster response.

The dispatch of this latest convoy is seen as a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted ties of friendship and brotherhood between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, while also providing urgent assistance to families struggling in the aftermath of the devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
