ISLAMABAD; The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan has conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 78th Independence Day, lauding its progress, resilience, and contributions on the global stage.

In its message, the embassy noted that since gaining independence in 1947, Pakistan has made substantial strides in various sectors, including economic development, science and technology, and diplomacy, while strengthening its standing within the international community. The statement also highlighted Pakistan’s involvement in space exploration, recalling milestones such as the launch of its first satellite, Badr-A, in 1990 and ongoing cooperation in space research with international partners.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s challenges over the decades—from political transitions and economic hurdles to natural disasters—the embassy praised the country’s steadfast commitment to the vision and principles of its founding fathers, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which continue to guide its national identity and foreign policy.

“The people of Pakistan can rightly be proud of their country,” the message read. “From the bottom of our hearts, we wish our Pakistani friends continued success, prosperity, and well-being. Youm-e-Azadi Mubarak!”

Russia and Pakistan have shared a complex but steadily improving relationship since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1948. In recent years, both nations have expanded cooperation in trade, energy, defense, and regional security, while also engaging in cultural and educational exchanges. Such greetings, analysts say, not only celebrate national occasions but also reflect the growing warmth in bilateral relations.
